We want to see Jesus.

Now among those who went up to worship at the Feast were some Greeks. These came to Philip, who was from Bethsaida in Galilee, and they made this request, Sir, we desire to see Jesus.Philip came and told Andrew; then Andrew and Philip together [went] and told Jesus. John 12:20-22 AMPC

Read John Chapter 12

Hosanna! Hosanna! Glory in the highest. Today marks the start of Passion/ Holy Week and today at church there was the waving of palms and shouts of Hosanna remembering/celebrating the Triumphant entry of Jesus into Jerusalem.

See Passover is one of the most important holidays in the Jewish faith and many were coming to Jerusalem for the feast as described in John chapter twelve. This week was especially different as Lazarus has been raised from the dead and the account of this miracle by Jesus was being spread everywhere.  Even non-jews came to the feast and two of them found Phillip and ask the question “Sir, we desire to see Jesus.”

That should be our desire as well to live our lives so that when this life is over, that we find ourselves right there before our King of Kings and Lord of Lords.

The bible does not say if the two men got their audience with Jesus as the verses say “Philip cometh and telleth Andrew: and again Andrew and Philip tell Jesus. And Jesus answered them, saying, The hour is come, that the Son of man should be glorified.”  John 12: 22-23KJV

What we Christian believers do know is that because he died on the cross of Calvary, and rose again he gives the Jew and the non-Jew access to eternal life, And I, if I be lifted up from the earth, will draw all men unto me…” John 12:32 KJV

So, let us all revisit Passion/Holy week this week by doing some personal evangelism, reading the account in the scriptures, watching a movie, or attending a service where the passion of the Christ is being celebrated.
