The Sweet Spot
One thing have I asked of the Lord, that will I seek after: that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to gaze upon the beauty of the Lord and to inquire in his temple. Psalm 27:4
How sweet are Your words to my taste! Yes, sweeter than honey to my mouth! Psalm 119:103
When I was a child every Sunday the choir marched in through those double doors singing the song “Walk in the Light.” Walk in the light, beautiful light, come where the dew drops of mercy shine bright, shine all around us by day and by night Jesus the light of the world.
Proverbs 24:13-14 AMPC says “My son, eat honey, because it is good, and the drippings of the honeycomb are sweet to your taste. So shall you know skillful and godly Wisdom to be thus to your life; if you find it, then shall there be a future and a reward, and your hope and expectation shall not be cut off.”
The other side of sweet is sour and light is darkness. Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour. Resist him, steadfast in the faith, knowing that the same sufferings are experienced by your brotherhood in the world. 1 Peter 5: 8-9
See the enemy is walking too do not be deceived and let him block the light around you or in you. Acts 26:18 “to open their eyes so that they may turn from darkness to light and from the dominion of Satan to God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins and an inheritance among those who have been sanctified by faith in Me.”
Sometimes we block the light from shining around us by not keeping the Kingdom of God first Matthew 6:33 or by our actions aware and unaware. Disobedience will dim the light quickly. “But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed… James 1:14-15. Also, Jesus says If ye love me, keep my commandments” John 14:15.
The sweet spot is for us to stay in the light. The song was an invitation/instruction and assurance that God’s mercy is around us all the time as long as we stay in the light. In one week, we will be celebrating Passion week or as some say Holy week, please remind the young people in your life about power of the Cross and what the resurrection of Christ Jesus gives us. Let them know that Jesus is the light of the world. 💕
