The Pressures of Life: But God!
I have told you these things, so that in Me you may have [perfect] peace and confidence. In the world you have tribulation and trials and distress and frustration; but be of good cheer [take courage; be confident, certain, undaunted]! For I have overcome the world. [I have deprived it of power to harm you and have conquered it for you. John 16:33 AMPC
In this time and season on the earth, we are seeing many new things. Some that give us pause and make us say what in the world is going on. In the past few weeks, I have talked to people experiencing the loss of loved ones, facing the loss of shelter not because they were not paying their rent but because landlords want to take advantage of the market, allowing for higher rents. Some can afford it, but many cannot. I have yet to go into the grocery store and not hear or have it said to me these prices are ridiculous, and the quantity is less in some items, and where is the support staff? I must pay for my items, scan them and pack them up. These things fall under the pressures of life. But God! From my distress I called upon the Lord; The Lord answered me and set me in a large place. Psalms 118:5
I live in the Midwest region of the United States of America, where we get lots of snow in the wintertime. Still, this past winter in my city, we only had to shovel snow once, but you couldn’t recognize the mild winter by our utility bills. Many say I do not have the finances for all this or that. To coin a Marvin Gaye song phrase, “Makes you want to holler, throw up both your hands,” But God! But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:19
In the book of Genesis chapter one, God creates the heavens and the earth. In verses 26 – 28 of the same chapter, God create man in His image and after His likeness and gave us dominion. We need to start turning things with our tongues and using this dominion we have as kingdom citizens.
We all deal with challenges from time to time. Jesus said we would, but we cannot let it take us under; keep the spirit of the overcomer operating at all times. Also, keep that love, respect, and kind demeanor toward others. If allowed, the pressures of life can move into our attitudes, behavior, and even our bodies. Let’s self-check and rebuke that behavior if found right now and demand a reversal of any damage done, with the restoration of any loss.
Just remember, “Happy are those who remain faithful under trials, because when they succeed in passing such a test, they will receive as their reward the life which God has promised to those who love him. “James 1:12 GNT💕
