The Goodness of God: I Still Believe!
Absolutely everything, ranging from small to large, as you make it a part of your believing prayer, gets included as you lay hold of God.” Matthew 21:22 MSG
Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see. This is what the ancients were commended for. By faith we understand that the universe was formed at God’s command, so that what is seen was not made out of what was visible. Hebrews 11:1NIV
Our belief system is structured by principles we hold to be true. As believers, we believe that God created the heavens and the earth. Also, That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. Romans 10:9. We believe that The Holy Spirit indwells believers (1 Corinthians 3:16) and convicts us/them of sin (John 16:8-11). That the Bible is the inspired word of God, that prayer changes things, and That if we love God, we will keep His commandments. Our belief system is also influenced by things we learn and experience and can be reshaped significantly. Sometimes, life will challenge what we believe based on what we see or experience, and that is when we need to stand firm and say, “I Still Believe.”
Do you know the word believe means trusting, relying on, and accepting? Many of us have testimonies and examples of how we have trusted God, and He came through. We relied on Him when we did not know what to do and which way to go. We have even learned to accept what He allows when it does not turn out the way we prayed or expected. I repeat our message today rests on the words “I Still believe.” The word still the adverb means nevertheless, and however, it means up to and including the present; it’s a function of a continuation of action. The word believe in Hebrew, means to be established, firm, and stable. I know God wants to hear these words from each of us all. I Still Believe!
Below are a few belief statements we created for this week’s message on various topics. The Word of God helps us continuously believe and remain established and firm, from the small things to the significant things to the joys and pains that happen in life. Add your own statements to the list and keep on believing!
We still believe we can do all things through Christ who strengthens us, that eye has not seen, ear has not heard, nor have entered into the heart of man the things God has prepared for those who love Him. We are blessed to be a blessing, we must honor you Lord in all that we do, we seek the kingdom of God, and Love our neighbors as ourselves. We pray without ceasing, forgive and are forgiven, look for the good, and reject every kind of evil. Philippians 4:13, 1 Thessalonians 5:22, Mark 11:25, 1 Corinthians 2:9
We still believe that healing is the children’s bread. Matthews 15:26. That as the believer we can send the word, and they shall be healed, Psalms 107:20. Everything that has a name must bow at the name of Jesus. Philippians 2:10-11. Lord, we are not moved by what we see! We walk by faith, not by sight, 2 Corinthians 5:7. By your stripes, we are healed. Isaiah 53:5. Lord, thank you for the goodness of your healing power.
We still believe Revelation 21:8 “But to the cowardly and unbelieving and abominable and murderers and sexually immoral and sorcerers and idolaters and all liars, their place will be in the lake that burns with fire and sulfur. This is the second death.” So, let’s get it together people if any of those things can be named among you, repent while there is still time.
We still believe that all our needs are Met according to your richest in glory, Lord Jesus. We firmly hold that whatever we ask for, we believe that it is done. We will follow your instructions, knowing that our request(s) align with your will for us, Lord Jesus. We ask in faith, without wavering. Thank you for listening to us each time we pray. Matthew 21:22, 1 John 5:14-15).
We still believe the seed of the righteous shall be delivered. Our children are taught of the Lord and great shall be the peace of our children Isaiah 54:13. We believe in the blessing that we will see our children’s children. Psalms 128:6. Our children’s days on earth will be long because they honor their parents. Exodus 20:12 Many are the afflictions of the righteous: but the Lord delivereth him out of them all. Psalm 34:19
We believe in God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. Lord, we thank you for creating us in your image and after your likeness; you have given us authority. We have the God kind of faith that can move mountains; we can decree things (Holy Spirit help us with this one as our words are powerful; they can create and destroy). We walk in Love as you do, Lord Jesus, occupying our place and position on the earth until you come. Genesis 1:26, Luke 10:19, Job 22:28, Mark 11:23-24, Ephesians 5:2. We Still Believe!
