The Doors are Open!
For a great door, and effectual, has opened unto me, and there are many adversaries. I Corinthians 16:9
7 And to the angel of the church in Philadelphia write; These things saith he that is holy, he that is true, he that hath the key of David, he that openeth, and no man shutteth; and shutteth, and no man openeth;
8 I know thy works: behold, I have set before thee an open door, and no man can shut it: for thou hast a little strength, and hast kept my word, and hast not denied my name. Revelation 3:7-8
Rosh Hashanah The New Jewish Year was celebrated last weekend. 5784 Hebrew, the prophetic meaning is the Year of Open Doors. This is very exciting as the scripture says in the book of Revelation when God opens a door, no one can shut it. Our job is to decern the door and walk through it. Many of us have been laboring in prayer night and day, which is the intercessor’s job, and waking up to a season of open doors is incredible!
Look for the Open Door(s)
“Ask, and you will be given what you ask for. Seek, and you will find. Knock, and the door will be opened.
Opportunities
The Apostle Paul writes our opening scripture, and he says For a great door, and effectual, meaning a great door of opportunity has been open unto me, he was about to be able to preach the gospel, ministering the word at Ephesus. The people were receptive, and many were saved. Some doors may not be as great as the one the Apostle is speaking of, but the impact of a God-opened door can change your life and/or the lives of others. Get excited but check the spirit and make sure it is God. No opportunity from God will make you do anything that does not align with God’s will for your life or His Word. For instance, Joe proposes to Linda but wants to move in next week, six months before the wedding. He says to save money. Linda gets sad because she knows that is not how God designed the marriage relationship to operate, but Joe insists; that’s the only way they can get married. See, the blessing of the Lord maketh rich and adds no sorrow with it. Or your child wants to go to college, but you need more financial resources, even for the application fee. But you pray and trust God, and a door opens miraculously for your child to receive a scholarship if he meets specific qualifications, and he does. See, God can tailor-make doors for us that fit the right time, a particular need, and a blessing for our lives. Go through the door God opens in this season.
Many adversaries
Everyone will not be happy for you – Watch your enemies. You will be shocked to see the old ones, the new ones, and familiar faces that are not happy for you. Get over the shock quickly. As the saying goes, believe them when someone shows you who they are. The Apostle Paul had a way of dealing with enemies; he said in Romans 12:14, “Bless those who persecute you [who are cruel in their attitude toward you]; bless and do not curse them.” Give them to God. Paul would also call you out by name, but he understood vengeance belongs to God, not us.
Take advantage of the Open Door.
In my work history, I almost turned down two outstanding promotion doors. The first time after turning down the position, I heard the Spirit of the Lord tell me to say before my director walked away. “Just place me where it will help you the most,” the second I was to give my answer that day, but on the way to work, I read on a billboard that said, “Never miss a genuine opportunity.” They were the best two positions of my work career before going into ministry full-time as they set the path for better placements. There is an even greater door that the Lord Jesus does not want us to miss, described in Luke 19:41-44: “But as they came closer to Jerusalem and he saw the city ahead, he began to cry. “Eternal peace was within your reach, and you turned it down,” he wept, “and now it is too late. Your enemies will pile up earth against your walls and encircle you and close in on you, and crush you to the ground, and your children within you; your enemies will not leave one stone upon another—for you have rejected the opportunity God offered you.” This speaks of accepting Jesus as the Messiah our Lord and savior.
Prayer
Father, in the name of Jesus, we thank you for the season of Open Doors. Please only allow us to miss a door or enter the one you have prepared. We bind the enemy and every scheme, plot, or plan he has for our lives in the name of Jesus. We receive by faith these opportunities, looking to the Holy Spirit to confirm and guide us through them.
Father, we love you, and thank you so much. We give you the Glory, Honor, and praise in Jesus’s Name, Amen!
