Repeat that Again, Please!

Sometimes, we hear things and then say can you repeat that because we want to be sure that what was said was what we heard. Other times, we know something but want to refresh ourselves by going back through the information again, like a recipe, lecture, or Bible topic. My prayer partner recently started studying healing again, pulling out all her old books, looking at and new ones studying and praying for new revelation on the subject. Today, by the leading of the Holy Spirit, I have selected a few topics to start the conversation. The list is not all-inclusive, just one to ask each of us what we need to re-study, fortify, or establish in our walk as believers. Let’s get started.

Who am I in Christ Jesus?

Our identity in Christ is the key to life as a believer. It is not based on what we do, have, performance, or position. It is based on Him, what He has done for us, and His plan for our lives. Ephesians 1:13-14 MSG says, “It’s in Christ that you, once you heard the truth and believed it (this Message of your salvation), found yourselves home free—signed, sealed, and delivered by the Holy Spirit. This down payment from God is the first installment on what’s coming, a reminder that we’ll get everything God has planned for us, a praising and glorious life.” God told Jeremiah, “Before you saw the light of day, I had holy plans for you: A prophet to the nations – that’s what I had in mind for you.” Take some time and review the I am statements in the Bible. For example, I am chosen John 15:16; I am Strong Philippians 4:13; I am Forgiven 1 John 1:9, I am at Peace; I am complete in Him Colossians 2:10. Also review any prophetic word(s) God has given you too.

Are your ears clogged, and are your eyes closed?

Years ago, my pastor gave me some excellent advice during a teaching. He said, “Listen for God, listen to God, and do what he says do.” Did you follow and complete the last instructions God gave you? Sometimes, we don’t move ahead because we need to follow the last instructions, or we skip a step. Check out your ears, adjust your eyes in the spirit, put your hands on the plow, and start moving forward. E.W. Kenyon says. “The gravest danger of the believer is the possibility of his lapsing back into bondage after he has been made free. He leaves the realm of the spirit and faith and walks in the realm of the senses.”

Prayer

Pray the prayers that drive out demons and make things happen. Pray the Word of God. Boldly go to God. If you don’t understand something, ask Him. Pray without ceasing. Use your heavenly prayer language if you need help figuring out how/what to pray. Keep up with what you pray in a journal; this will remind you of past victories, show you patterns, and help you document what God is saying. Prayer is a lifestyle; we just finished an international 30 days of prayer. Connecting and praying with others is a powerful resource to keep your prayer life fresh.

Give as God leads.

Tithes and offering are required Malachi 3:8-10. God supplies seed to the Sower; you will be able to meet every occasion and every opportunity that God presents to you to give. Deuteronomy 15:10 Giving is an expression of God’s love. Please do not be upset when people always come to you when they have a need. No, you are not their source, so use wisdom in every case, but everyone needs help sometimes. But keep this in mind: it is better to be the lender than the borrower.  Also remember, A generous soul will prosper, and he who refreshes others will himself be refreshed. Proverbs 11:25

Receive.

Receive the help and or blessing God is sending your way. It’s coming exceedingly and abundantly above all you could ask or think. Many of us have difficulty receiving; I had to learn that receiving is the reciprocal part of giving. Luke 6:38 says, Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again. This is the season of reestablishment (setting something up again or bringing it back). Lord Jesus, help us to receive every blessing and all the help you send our way.

Faith/Believe.

As Jesus said to the centurion, Great faith, to the disciples, where is your faith? Or to Jairus, the ruler of the synagogue, be not afraid, only believe. Locate your faith and take it up a notch. There will never be a time when you should not be using /need your faith. This is the season of reestablishment, breakthrough, and promotion for those who believe it.

Give honor where honor is due.

Never miss an opportunity to honor (show admiration and respect) God and others. There was a lady on a TV show; her son had died, and the first thing that came to her mouth was I don’t remember the last time I said, “I love you.” Her words caught my attention. This happens in real life. We honor people with our words and actions. Don’t wait to greet, love on, and appreciate Father God, and not just on Sundays. Or your parents, spouse, children, pastor and others. Reach out when the Holy Spirit leads you with a timely call, text, card, or visit. These simple gestures mean and say a lot to people. Remember what God says in1 Peter 2:17: “Honor all men…”

Pray and ask the Holy Spirit what topic(s) you must review or start studying. 💕
