12 May Happy Mother’s Day
May 12, 2024
Happy Mother’s Day to all the mothers. Have a fantastic day.
Proverbs 31:28–29: “Her children rise up and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her: ‘Many women have done excellently, but you surpass them all.'”
As we celebrate Mother’s Day, take some time to feast on one of your favorite memories. One of my memories is from my high school senior year. A family friend promised to buy all my senior week dress-up outfits. She told my mom and dad to only buy the shoes and accessories I needed, which we did. That week, her job unexpectedly transferred her to another city with an immediate departure date, so we only had one day to shop.
This exclusive store she was buying everything from was in an area that my mom was unfamiliar with, so my mom solicited her friend, who said she knew the location. As fate would have it, she did not, and when we arrived, the store was closing in five minutes, and our family friend’s plane was leaving in hours. Talk about devastation. Sounds vain; you’re right. At 18 years old, who is not?
When we got home, my mom told me, Theresa, it would be okay; we would go shopping, but in the meantime, you go through my closets, and if you see anything you want to wear, take it. Oh my God! This was such a big deal. It was not the clothes but the connection it created between us that showed me that I have full access to her and all she has, just like our relationship with our Heavenly Father.
2 Peter 1:3 says, “According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue:” Happy Mother’s Day! 💕
