Seize the Moment!

And he said to them, “Go into all the world and proclaim the gospel to the whole creation. Mark 16:15

For with the heart one believes and is justified, and with the mouth one confesses and is saved. 11 For the Scripture says, “Everyone who believes in him will not be put to shame.” 12 For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek; for the same Lord is Lord of all, bestowing his riches on all who call on him. 13 For “everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.” Romans 10:10-13 NIV

Read Matthew 24

This time of year, the spirit of joy, giving and extra kindness seems to appear out of nowhere and that is a good thing. Jesus Christ is the Messiah; He is the Word; He became flesh and He dwelled among us. John 1:14. He is our only way to eternal life.

 Who are you Following?

Matthew’s gospel chapter six includes what is called the Lord’s Prayer it is Jesus teaching his disciples to pray.  These were men of various ages and occupations but knew about the prophesied Messiah and  were looking for Him to come. When it was revealed to them by John the Baptist the forerunner of the Messiah, they left John the Baptist and followed Jesus.

Check Your Row

These two disciples Andrew and John went and not only told their brothers but brought them to Jesus. Who are you sharing Christ with?  Years ago, at church the pastor would say check your row. Make sure everybody on your row knows Jesus and is saved. Everybody would turn around to the person next to them and ask them do they know Jesus Christ and are you saved? It was not hard to do then, and it shouldn’t be hard to do now. Was talking to the mother of a college freshman this past week and she was sharing with her mom all the things that were happening on campus and all of a sudden, the mother said she stopped and said, “wait a minute are you still saved” and the response from her daughter was more saved now than ever. Like the disciples we need to learn to pray and share the gospel and like the did we need to check on the salvation of others. One of the things we encourage people to do when they get saved is to tell somebody what happened, this practice encourages the person and can present or be an introduction to salvation for others.

Be intentional

This time of Year is also perfect for evangelism as Christmas is the theme in the air; retail markets started advertising months ago, I remember in school we would start practicing for the Christmas concerts mid-October.  How many gifts have you purchased or planned to give? You have made that decision already, I’m sure. Many have even decided how much decorating they are going to do and what the menus will be on Christmas Day.   Let’s be that intentional about the salvation of our loved ones and those who cross our path.  You’re saying I don’t know how to do that or where I work, attend school…  that’s not appropriate.  Well tell Deion Sander, the football coach for Colorado University, that. In many of his interviews he does he give glory to God and many times calls the name of Jesus.   Many of our lives are not center stage and some places are not appropriate to do an evangelistic invitation, that’s when you just live your life as the example of a child of God.  Practice makes perfect start with your relatives and relations and ask the Holy Spirit to help. For example, I was coming out of a store, and I heard the Spriit of the Lord say tell that lady in the car that I love her. So, I stopped at the car and said “young lady the Lord told me to tell you that he loves you. She just broke down and started crying and said she had recently joined church but had stop going and said this lets me know God care about me and I’m going to go back to church.

End Times Message: The questions. Are we living in the End Times? and What do we need to know?

We are hearing an increase number of End-Times messages preached and interpretations of the time that we are living in today.  We need to know that Jesus is coming back but no man knows the day or the hour.  Jesus tells the disciples in Matthew 24:13 “But the one who endures to the end will be saved. 14 And this gospel of the kingdom will be proclaimed throughout the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come.”  Seize the Moment!
