This is Passion Week: Stop & Reflect!
March 29, 2026
Looking away from all that will distract us and] focusing our eyes on Jesus, who is the Author and Perfecter of faith [the first incentive for our belief and the One who brings our faith to maturity], who for the joy [of accomplishing the goal] set before Him endured the cross, disregarding the shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God [revealing His deity, His authority, and the completion of His work]. Hebrew 12:2 AMPC
Galatians 2:20 “I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.”
This is Passion Week, using the timeline downloaded from the internet for this historic week. Let’s look at all that our Savior, Jesus Christ, went through. Jesus is the most famous person then and now. He was without sin, the most compassionate, selfless person to walk the face of the earth. He is the Son of God. Stop and reflect on the events, take note, and share your own takeaways for encouragement with someone this week.
Passion Week Daily Timeline
- Palm Sunday (Triumphal Entry): Jesus enters Jerusalem riding a colt, welcomed by crowds with palm branches (Matthew 21:1–11).
They screamed Hosanna, which means “save us now,” or “please deliver us.” Is that something you or someone you know may need now? Call on the Lord, he will hear and answer. He answered then, and He will answer now. Psalm 91:15
- Holy Monday (Temple Cleansing): Jesus curses the fig tree and clears the Temple of money changers (Mark 11:15–19).
Anything not bearing fruit or not fulfilling its purpose should be reevaluated and /or removed. You know, every now and then, we must clean house naturally and spiritually. Don’t allow it to fester, don’t wait around, use your faith and take action. Also, Jesus knew the Temple was to be a holy place of worship, and the activity of the money changers should not have been allowed.
- Holy Tuesday (Teachings and Conflict): Jesus teaches in the Temple, faces challenges from Pharisees, and delivers the Olivet Discourse on end times.
Know Your Bible! 2 Timothy 3:15-17. And the major prophetic teaching given by Jesus in Matthew 24–25 (also in Mark 13 and Luke 21) on the Mount of Olives. That addresses the signs of the end times, the Great Tribulation, and the second coming of Christ. Knowing the Word will help us avoid deception. This week presents an excellent opportunity for both teaching and connecting with others make sure to take advantage of it.
- Spy Wednesday (Plot and Preparation): Judas Iscariot agrees to betray Jesus to the Sanhedrin. Jesus rests in Bethany.
Jesus had enemies we are not exempt. Who and where they are may change from time to time and just might surprise you too, but handle it with prayer, love and forgiveness and let God handle the justice. Jesus says this in Matthew 5:44 (KJV): “But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you;”. Also, Jesus knew how to rest.J
- Maundy Thursday (Last Supper and Arrest): Jesus eats the Passover meal with his disciples, institutes the Lord’s Supper, prays in Gethsemane, and is arrested.
The power of Communion – Joseph Prince said this in a article of the same title “His loving instruction is that we are to remember Him as we partake of the Holy Communion. Jesus wanted us conscious of how His body was broken for our wholeness, and His blood was shed for the forgiveness of our sins. And whenever we partake in this consciousness, we “proclaim the Lord’s death till He comes” (1 Corinthians 11:26).
- Good Friday (Crucifixion): Jesus faces multiple trials, is crucified at the same time Passover sacrifices occur, and is buried before 6 p.m..
I often wondered when I was a child why it was called Good Friday, because Jesus was killed on that day. This day, Jesus voluntarily sacrificed his life for our sins. It was a day of victory, I know that now, because he rose on the third day with all power and is seated on the right hand of the Father. For me and all humanity.
I love Galatians 2:20 “I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.”
- Holy Saturday (Tomb): Jesus remains in the tomb, which is sealed and guarded.
“I am he that liveth, and was dead; and, behold, I am alive for evermore, Amen; and have the keys of hell and of death.” Revelation 1:18
- Easter Sunday (Resurrection): Jesus rises from the dead, with Mary Magdalene discovering the empty tomb. John 20
“…Death swallowed by triumphant Life! Who got the last word, oh, Death? Oh, Death, who’s afraid of you now? It was sin that made death so frightening and law-code guilt that gave sin its leverage, its destructive power. But now in a single victorious stroke of Life, all three—sin, guilt, death—are gone, the gift of our Master, Jesus Christ. Thank God!” I Corinthians 15:55-57 MSG 💕
Happy Easter/Resurrection Sunday!
