It’s not the Same Part II: A Special November.

Hey, It’s November. Here in the USA, it’s the month that kicks off the holiday season: winter is coming, with food, family, and fun—the eleventh month of the year. The number 11 can have both positive and negative meanings in the Bible; on the negative side, chaos, disorder, and judgment (the consequences of disobedience).  On the positive side, it speaks to the potential for transition and spiritual growth. Showing that it’s never too late to turn to God.

Our last lesson was about how things are not the same, even though they may look and feel familiar; they are different because we are different.  There is a level of maturity, a higher level of discernment.  The Word is alive and encourages us to recognize that we are not the same; we can/have grown spiritually.

“But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and forever! Amen.” – 2 Peter 3:18

“So that you may live a life worthy of the Lord and please him in every way: bearing fruit in every good work, growing in the knowledge of God.” – Colossians 1:10

“Instead, speaking the truth in love, we will grow to become in every respect the mature body of him who is the head, that is, Christ.” – Ephesians 4:15.

These passages remind us to continue to grow, to know by the spirit of God that “We got this,” and to keep it moving forward.

Starting Strong

I started calling this section “Finishing Strong,” but when you have a revelation of a new way of living that surpasses everything before that moment, it becomes a new way to function immediately.  We tear down the evil altars, strongholds, and habits that pull us away from God. Our minds are renewed, and we come boldly to God with childlike faith, big ideas, and prayers, and we experience continuous special moments of fellowship, and we look forward to fresh manna from God each day.

Don’t be Surprised

I was at the store and had a set amount of money to spend based on my budget, just a few things we needed.  So, I opened my bank app to transfer the amount to my checking account, and lo and behold, I got an unexpected deposit. Well, you know, my former list grew to include what we needed, yes, and some things we just wanted, and some things we got for someone else. Some of us are full of the Word but keep being surprised when God does what he said and what we are in covenant with him to do.  Blind Bartimaeus was not surprised in Mark 10:46-52. His faith was there; he acknowledged Jesus as the Messiah so much that he threw off his beggar’s robe, knowing Jesus could heal him. The Woman with the issue of blood in Mark 5:28 said, “All I need to do is touch the hem of his garment.” Or my dad, when they amputated his second leg, said Going into surgery, stop crying, I will be fine, and he was and lived many years.  We are to be grateful for everything God does for us, but let’s check what we are saying, believing we are children of the King of Kings, and do we understand/believe it. I am saying 2 Corinthians 9:8And God is able to bless you abundantly, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work”.  Let’s keep going.

The abundant Life.

Hear someone saying that not much to get some money for food and everyday stuff.  Tell that to the people who are facing the possibility of not getting their food supplement this month.  Now comes the revelation of a Special November that God wants us to get.  Saw a short clip online with three older ladies on a porch (not sure if it was staged). The question posed to the ladies was “What’s going to happen if you don’t get your SNAP benefits?”.  One of the old ladies said, “Immediately, we have lived without electricity, didn’t have cable… but we are going to eat.” The other ladies nodded in agreement.   They did not doubt that they would be fine. That revelation can be transferred to any situation when you know God and believe.  Hebrews 13:6 says, So we may boldly say: ‘The Lord is my helper; I will not fear. What can man do to me?” We receive abundant life the moment we accept Jesus as our Lord and savior.  How Special is that? It’s a gift that keeps on giving.

Where’s my Harvest?

Back in the day, I would hear older people say, “I am waiting on my ship to come in.” Well, news flash, as I heard one pastor say: if you didn’t send a ship out there, there won’t be one coming.  The kingdom of God is a government, and as each government has laws and regulations, benefits, etc. So, it is with the kingdom of God, for instance the Law of Reciprocity: “Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.”  Luke 6:38 NIV. So if you are not giving you should hardly expect to receive.  Giving is an area where many people face the greatest challenge, but when we trust God, believe, and give as he instructs us to, we will have our harvest.  It is called sowing and reaping. I know when we hear that statement, it can seem to be used in the negative; it was to me growing up, but it can be positive, too. Galatian 6:7 NLT “Don’t be misled—you cannot mock the justice of God. You will always harvest what you plant.”  Look at 2 Corinthians 9:6-8 ” Remember this: Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will also reap generously. Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. And God is able to bless you abundantly, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work.” Now, that sounds special to me. We are encouraged to give; God is not trying to get something from us; He is working to get something to us.

A Special November

This November will be a special month as we receive the instructions and blessings that God has for us. Remember He is a present help, right now, when we call—a loyal friend.  Owns everything, and as the sons (not gender specific) of God, we have access, knowing that “The blessing of the Lord, it maketh rich, and he addeth no sorrow with it”. Proverbs 10:22. This month and every month, let God overwhelm us with His lavish Love, be grateful, and bless His holy name. Stay humble and Grateful!
