The Re-Mix
July 13, 2025
Time to recharge, reassess, relax, repent, reconnect, recommit.
The prefix “re” means “again,” “do again,” “over again,” and “anew.” We are a little past the halfway mark of this year. Summer is here, and even though we’re still doing our daily routine, it is easy because of the weather. We put on lighter clothes, think of stopping off after work, or plan a get-together on the weekend. How are you doing? Take that much-needed vacation away from it all, even the staycations can give us that slow down, rejuvenate, let’s do this another way, mindset to finish the year.
Re-charge – Isaiah 40:31 “But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.
It’s time to rest and renew the physical and spiritual part of you. The physical summer slows things down; it has us look for places and times to refresh and rest. On the spiritual side, we cannot get weary in well doing, we cannot get so tired that we spiritually lose or neglect the real us, the spiritual man. Keep your spiritual man alert, grab a new book, attend a conference, and extend your prayer time. Read a new book in the Bible not as a part of your regular devotion, but just because. It will revive and refresh you. Look at Ephesians 4:23-24 TLB: “ Now your attitudes and thoughts must all be constantly changing for the better. 24 Yes, you must be a new and different person, holy and good. Clothe yourself with this new nature.” So take advantage of the extra sunlight and recharge your physical and spiritual self.
Reassess – means to consider something again. Look at the major areas of your life and see where you are. For me, there are five: Ministry, Relationships, Business, Family, and Finances. We each have our own list, but do look at yours and see if there are any adjustments that need to be made. The enemy loves to catch us unaware of necessary changes and adjustments.
2 Corinthians 13:5 AMP “Test and evaluate yourselves to see whether you are in the faith and living your lives as [committed] believers. Examine yourselves [not me]! Or do you not recognize this about yourselves [by an ongoing experience] that Jesus Christ is in you—unless indeed you fail the test and are rejected as counterfeit? “
Relax- Just Chill! This one could be tough for some of us. We hit the ground running every day and don’t stop until the clock stops or our bodies demand it.
Psalms 127: 1-2 “Unless the Lord builds the house, those who build it labor in vain. Unless the Lord guards the city, the guard keeps watch in vain. It is in vain that you rise early and go late to rest, eating the bread of anxious toil; for he gives sleep to his beloved.”
1 Peter 5:7 Casting all your anxieties on him, because he cares for you.” Take a break, God’s got it. Stop being anxious.
Repent – Yes, repent means turning from sin and dedicating oneself to the Lord Jesus Christ (if you’re not saved, get saved). Romans 10:9-10
It also means to turn and change. The prodigal son did, and King David too. We all miss it. God is faithful, and his mercies are new every morning. Lamentations 3:22-23 So repent and get back on the road of life. 1 John 1:9 says, “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”
Re-connect. No matter the reason, if there is a disconnect or time lost since your last connection with someone close to you, reach out and say hello. Make it personal, too. I remember when we became adults. Whenever we called our dad, he said, “Thanks for calling.” I wondered why for years, but I’ve realized that people don’t have to take time to acknowledge you, and when they do, we should acknowledge them and appreciate it. If there is offense, let it go now; it will only hold you prisoner. Some people don’t know how to or will not apologize for what they say/do; let that be on them. You take the bigger step and keep communication flowing. Too many people have lost opportunities to know people better and spend quality time. Reconnect where you can.
Re-commit – Re-commit yourself to living your best life now. Ask the Holy Spirit to reveal God’s love to you, also, any needed adjustments required, and receive His encouragement and blessings. The Apostle John says it this way in 3 John 2 NIV “Dear friend, I pray that you may enjoy good health and that all may go well with you, even as your soul is getting along well.”
Make it a great week.💕
