Praise Break!

We are halfway through 2024. Since January, we have encountered many good times, not-so-good times, holidays, and personal celebrations. Now, summertime is here with all the travel and fun activities it offers. Don’t get too busy or overwhelmed about anything; relax and remember to Praise God, as we are still here to experience it all.

This proverb comes to mind: “There, but for the grace of God, go I.”  This expression of humility acknowledges that without God’s unmerited favor, mercy, love, kindness, and peace (you fill in the blanks for your life), we would not be experiencing this beautiful season of the year.

I have always been optimistic, expecting something better and holding on to the idea that no former day is better than the current day or the one ahead.  God has been so faithful to us all.

Psalms 34:1-8 in the Good New Bible version is one of those psalms that capture the spirit of this week’s message.

1. I will always thank the LORD; I will never stop praising him.

2. I will praise him for what he has done; may all who are oppressed listen and be glad!

3. Proclaim with me the LORD’s greatness; let us praise his name together!

4.I prayed to the LORD, and he answered me; he freed me from all my fears.

5.The oppressed look to him and are glad; they will never be disappointed.

6. The helpless call to him, and he answers; he saves them from all their troubles.

7. His angel guards those who honour the LORD and rescues them from danger.

8. Find out for yourself how good the LORD is

Let’s stop and take an unscheduled Praise Break for the next seven days! At some point in each day, outside of your regular devotion and Bible study, it does not have to be lengthy; it is just a deliberate gesture of praise.   It could be A hallelujah shout, a song, or the reading/ reciting a Bible verse or prayer.  You can use the verses above as a starting place, as you do this watch things shift to a more joyful place. Folk Jesus is Lord. Let’s give Him Praise! šŸ’•
