Arise and Shine

Arise, shine; for thy light is come, and the Glory of the LORD is risen upon thee. For, behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, and gross darkness the people: but the LORD shall arise upon thee, and his Glory shall be seen upon thee. Isaiah 60:1-2

Welcome to 2024! Confidence comes in naturally this time of year. All hearts and eyes are clear, focused on what this year has in store. The opening scripture speaks of Israel’s future Glory. In context, it is prophetic speaking of the climax of the end of this age and the return of Jesus Christ our Lord. We are going to approach it from a personal application standpoint. As Christians, let arise, shine, shake the dust off, and live in victory this year because, as the Word says, “greater is he that is in you than he that is in the world.” Jesus is the light of your life, and that light should be evident in our lives for all to see. Here are a few things to consider as you create your 2024 list as the Spirit leads you. Let’s Arise!

Arise and hear the new instruction from the Lord: Proverbs 16:20-22

  1. 20 Those who listen to instruction will prosper; those who trust the LORD will be joyful.
  2. 21 The wise are known for their understanding, and pleasant words are persuasive.
  3. 22 Discretion is a life-giving fountain to those who possess it, but discipline is wasted on fools.

Arise and finish what you started (at home, work, business, ministry, personal life) and things you are dragging your feet on; trust God to help you get it done this year. “Be confident that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.” Philippians 1:6, Hebrews 6:11-12 says, “We want each of you to show this same diligence to the very end, so that what you hope for may be fully realized. We do not want you to become lazy, but to imitate those who through faith and patience inherit what has been promised.”

Arise and get your house in order, not to die but to live better. Do a soul care check, ask family, friends, others if they know Jesus as Lord and if they are saved. Call out wrongdoing in the family, especially with your children (young and adults). There are lots of things that are wrong being accepted as right these days. Encourage those who need it. Celebrate those who accomplish things. See about your family and teach the young members of your family to do the same. The elders can tell the family history better than a DNA kit. The seniors don’t read text messages as well as they can read your face. Psalms 71:9 “Cast me not off in the time of old age; forsake me not when my strength faileth.” Family Matters

Arise, get those finances in order. My dad used to say he was looking for a ship to come in (money); call your ship in; just make sure you send one out first. Pay things on time and stop bowering, especially when you know you can’t pay it back. Continue, start back, and start tithing/giving to the Lord. “Blessed is the man who trust in the Lord, Jeremiah 17:7-8, Jesus himself said “it is more blessed to give than to receive.” Acts 20:35

Arise and seek the truth of God for your life. Psalm 86:11-13 Says Teach me your way, LORD, that I may rely on your faithfulness; give me an undivided heart, that I may fear your name. I will praise you, Lord my God, with all my heart; I will glorify your name forever. For great is your love toward me; you have delivered me from the depths, from the realm of the dead.”In case you have yet to notice, the old way of doing things may not be the best way in this season or for the situation(s). If God says go, go stay, stay. Do all things in faith, consulting God first. “But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.” Matthew 6:33 Arise and Shine💕
