The Waste of Daylight!

Most people wonder who came up with Daylight Savings Time? The first person to propose changing the clocks was William Willett; an Englishman who published a brochure entitled “The Waste of Daylight” in 1907. (Source: internet Study.com). The purpose was to get more use out of natural daylight.

For the last few weeks, we have been focused on evangelism and we hope you have been sharing Christ as the opportunities have come across your path(s). Please continue to do so for as the title of our message suggest, we do not want waste the daylight.

As believers, we know that Jesus Christ is the light of world He said in John 9:4-5 “As long as it is day, we must do the works of him who sent me. Night is coming, when no one can work. While I am in the world, I am the light of the world”. Jesus also said we are salt and light check out Matthew 5:13-15 “You are the salt of the earth. But if the salt loses its saltiness, how can it be made salty again? It is no longer good for anything, except to be thrown out and trampled underfoot. You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house.

Sometimes we are tired… and want to/need to do something else but if the Holy Spirit is leading you PLEASE respond. I am reminded of my father’s cousin who had been sick I knew who he was but not to the point that we had a relationship but one Sunday after church the Lord told me to go to his house and pray for him.  I told the Lord I have been working for days and just getting home from church now and I am just tired but the prompting was so strong and my mom said “Theresa if God is telling you to go lets go.” Therefore, I found the address and went.

We had a wonderful time with him and the family. The visit revived me, blessed him and you know what he died before I got to work the next morning. See the light went out in his natural life however to God be the glory we had a great time in the Lord in the daylight the day before.

Remember it is not about you or me it is about Jesus! So let us not waste the daylight of our lives lets be salt and light as Jesus said, “In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven. 💕

P.S. Election day is Tuesday across the United States of America do not forget to vote it is our right, please exercise it.
