Just a Little Note – Always Remember

Therefore, I will always be ready to remind you of these things, even though you already know them, and have been established in the truth which is present with you. II Peter 1:12

So then, brothers, stand firm and hold to the traditions that you were taught by us, either by our spoken word or by our letter. II Thessalonians 2:15

Many times, we take notes physically and mentally of things, we want/need to remember. For instance processes and procedures at work, our grocery store list, passwords, and Bible scriptures. Things that went well or not so well…  to manage our time and lives.

These memories from the past can helps us avoid mistakes, delays, and help to improve us in future situations that we face…  The Bible is full of examples of this For instance, God tells Moses to write and rehearse a battle in the ears of Joshua so that he would remember the ins and outs of a victory Exodus 17:14.  As his next assignment would be to lead the children of Israel in many battles as they took possession of the Promised Land.

Deuteronomy 8:18 New International Version  says But remember the Lord your God, for it is he who gives you the ability to produce wealth, and so confirms his covenant, which he swore to your ancestors, as it is today.  The word remember is in the Old/New Testament 240 times in good and bad situations Psalms 103:2 says don’t forget all the benefits or Jesus telling his disciples to remember Lot’s wife in Luke 17:32-33.

God tells the church of Ephesus in book of Revelation 2:4-5 “Nevertheless I have this against you, that you have left your first love. Remember therefore from where you have fallen; repent and do the first works, or else I will come to you quickly and remove your lampstand from its place—unless you repent.”

Sounds rough right but some things are just way too important to forget, God being first in your life is major and can have dangerous results if we do not get it right even in the simply things.

For example, I cannot count the times this year that I had been complaining in the grocery store about the prices or the gas pump… I did not remember Philippians 2:14-15 “Do all things without complaining and disputing, that you may become blameless and harmless, children of God without fault in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation, among whom you shine as lights in the world. Well one day God stop me right there in the grocery store and reminded me that there was no lack in my life, only His abundance and that he would supply all my needs.  In addition, that that behavior was not representing the kingdom of God properly.

Thank God, for His Mercy and His Grace. Think about all the scriptures you have read and memorized that bless you at just the right time or in my case reprove us. Therefore, our little note for this week is that it is so important that we remember/ stay in the Word of God, and that He even give us an open door to put Him in remembrance of it.
