About Us
Our mission is to teach the Holy Scriptures, to see the lost saved, and all believers matured with an increase in love, relationship, and knowledge of God our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
A Word in Season Ministry is on this earth to worship and demonstrate the Word of God, founded on Isaiah 50:4-5. We believe in that the best way to spread God’s Word is through illustration; that is, in showing it through our actions. Our vision is to see a world where the lost are saved and God’s love is apparent.
Our target populations are individuals and families with low to moderate income. We provide life skill workshops, mentoring, empowerment classes, motivational speaking, a weekly women support group, transportation services, educational services, referrals to other social services, and basic human need programs such as food distribution, clothing, and temporary shelter. We also conduct community outreach services.

Our Leadership
Theresa Woodard is a minister of the gospel, business professional with over 25 years of work experience in business in both corporate America and church administration.
The founder of “A Word in Season Ministries.” Theresa is a Bible teacher, workshop and conference speaker who specializes in teaching people how to grow more intimate in their relationship with God. Known as a “straight shooter with a heart of gold,” Theresa believes that the Word of God is what empowers us to live an abundant life, and that the revelation we receive from the Word brings order and direction to our lives. A Word in Season Ministries was founded on Isaiah 50:4-5, and guided by Theresa’s heart to encourage the weary, along with her deep concern and love for the unsaved and new believers. Theresa is being used by God to spread a “word in season” throughout the Body of Christ to help believers fulfill their divine purpose.
What We Believe
This ministry accepts the Holy Scriptures as the revealed will of God, the all-sufficient rule for faith and practice, and for the purpose of maintaining general unity, adopts the following statement of fundamental truths:
- The Ministry believes the Bible to be the inspired and only infallible, authoritative Word of God.
- The Ministry believes that there is one God; eternally existent in three persons: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit.
- The Ministry believes in the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, His virgin birth, His bodily resurrection, His ascension to the right hand of the Father, and in the blessed hope of His personal, visible, future return to this earth to receive to Himself His blood-bought church that it may be with Him forever.
- The Ministry believes that the only means of being cleansed from sin is through repentance and faith in the precious blood of Christ.
- The Ministry believes that regeneration by the Holy Spirit is absolutely essential for personal salvation.
- The Ministry believes in the redemptive work of Christ on the cross and that it provides healing of the human body in answer to believing prayer.
- The Ministry believes that according to Acts 2:4, the baptism with the Holy Spirit, with the evidence of speaking in other tongues, is given to Believers who ask for it.
- The Ministry believes in the sanctifying power of the Holy Spirit by whose indwelling the Christian enables them to live a holy life.
- The Ministry believes in the resurrection of the saved and the lost, the one to everlasting life and the other to everlasting damnation.
- The Ministry believes in water baptism by immersion and observance of the Lord’s Supper.
