Adversity!
I know what it is to be poor or to have plenty, and I have lived under all kinds of conditions. I know what it means to be full or to be hungry, to have too much or too little. Christ gives me the strength to face anything. Philippians 4:12-13 CEV
No one likes adversity it is the place of difficulty, trouble, misfortune…but we all experience it. It is how we respond to adversity that makes the differences.
The book of James 1:2-4 puts it this way Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.
Let us cut to the chase! You cannot get around adversity just decide to face it head on. Jesus said in this life we will have trouble but be of good cheer for I have overcome the world. Decide to win and be victorious from the beginning. Do not give up; do not give in.
How do you do this when you are in the fight of your life for yourself or someone else. Are you a child of God? (If not become one read Romans 10:9) Greater is he that is in you than he that is in the world. There are many forms of adversity physical, social, mental, emotional, spiritual… WHATEVER! You just decide that God and you are more than enough.
Adversity comes to keep you from succeeding in life, it is from the devil. 1 Peter 5:8 says “Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour.
Sister Theresa how do you win in adversity? You start by remembering what Lord told Joshua “Have I not commanded you? (A command is not an option especially when it come from God) Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go” Joshua 1:9.
Next, resist the devil in any form he comes in. Honey he will use anyone to make you give up in the time of adversity. Even your spouse, ask Job, Job 2:9, or your children, best friend, sibling… look at the King’s right hand man when the Prophet Elisha told them in the midst of a famine “About this time tomorrow there will be plenty of food and it will be cheap again.” The King’s right hand man made the statement that it would be impossible for that to happen, well he was wrong. Dead wrong. 2 kings 7:1-4 ERV.
As for the devil resist him, standing firm in the faith, because you know that the family of believers throughout the world is undergoing the same kind of sufferings.
1 Peter 5:9.
Andy Andrews said, “Adversity is Preparation for greatness.” Dare to believe that and keep moving.💕
